The Naked Nun

Ralph and Bing used to like to do some night cycling on their Raleigh Scorpios to relieve the stress of a heavy day of study at Blackrock College. Ralph always had a blue Scorpio and Bing always had a brand new Orange one. Bing always had a brand new one as he had a habit of cycling it somewhere and then forgetting that he had it. By the time he got went back to find it, it would always have been stolen.

On one particular night ride it seemed like a good idea to visit our old alma mater Loretto Convent Foxrock. Ralph and myself were the last 2 boys ever accepted in that school, I think it was Ralph’s fault, he had a bit of a thing about nuns. We cycled up the avenue to the school and around the back. At that stage it seemed like an even better idea to have a look inside our old school and see if anything had changed. Ralph saw a slightly open window on the second floor and tells muggins to climb up onto the first floor roof and try and get to the window. I climbed up the drainpipe with McMahon following close behind. The window was open but there was a light on (that’s what Ralph used to say about Bing too). We had a quick look in through the window, all seemed quiet, the coast was clear, so McMahon tells me to pull the old sash window up a bit more so that we could get in and have a look around. As I was half way through the window and McMahon just behind pushing me further in through the window, we hear a high pitched scream.  Suddenly the lights go on and I see a 95 year old nun jumping out of the bath stark naked and slamming closed the window nearly chopping off a few of my fingers.

Myself  and Mc  jumped off the roof  A team style ( McMahon was BA, I was Murdock) and back onto the Scorpios, straight into 5th gear and peddling like mad back down the long dark driveway to the main road at Foxrock church. As we got back to the exit of the school still on full throttle we had to swerve to avoid a Garda car with flashing blue lights going into the school. I still have nightmares about nuns in baths.
